Sandwich cake - an appetizer that everyone likes, no matter who tries it

Sandwich cake - a delicious snack from the usual ingredients, which can usually be seen on the holiday table. At its core, as the name implies, is bread, and toast bread is soft, thin, and extremely suitable for such an appetizing snack. Bread is complemented with cream cheese, soft cottage cheese, sour cream or mayonnaise, as well as “fillings” - red fish or sausage / ham / meat for sandwiches. To top it off, neutral vegetables and greens are usually added: cucumbers, green onions, dill, tomato, pepper, etc. Just below, we'll tell you how to make a sandwich cake holiday table.

For a sandwich cake with red fish you will need to take:

  • toast bread - 10 pieces;
  • slightly salted salmon or trout - 150 g;
  • low-fat soft cottage cheese - 150 gr;
  • Philadelphia cheese or feta - 150 gr;
  • sour cream 15% - 6 tbsp. l .;
  • cucumber and tomato - 1 pc;
  • a bunch of green onions, 2 sprigs of dill;
  • lemon, salt.

The recipe is quite simple:

  1. Cut into shape circles from toast bread (or just cut the edges of the crust).
  2. Blend cottage cheese, half sour cream, finely chopped dill, add lemon juice and salt to taste.
  3. Slice the tomato and cucumber into thin slices, cut the red fish into pieces, removing the skin.
  4. Start to collect the cake: on the toast bread spread the curd-sour mixture, from above lay the circles of vegetables. Cover the next with a slice of bread, spread the sauce, and now lay out the fish. Alternate the layers to the very end.
  5. At the end, when the cake is assembled, whip in a blender a Philadelphia cheese or feta with the remaining sour cream and brush it with the sides and top of the cake.
  6. On the sides lay the feathers onions. Garnish with vegetable slices on top.
